A recent report by Mintel shows that complementary medicine products are increasingly popular with the general public. Analysts say the market for natural remedies has grown by 18 per cent in two years despite strong campaigns against alternative treatments. Factors that may be behind the rise are the increase in conditions related to stress and depression. The report also shows that men are becoming more open-minded to the use of CAM. Many potential CAM users were concerned about ‘rip-off’ products and practitioners. We hope that this report fuels the arguments in favour of higher quality and standards for CAM products and therapists.
