This paper adds to our current knowledge that acupuncture techniques can be a useful method for breech version. In this study acupuncture interventions, including moxibustion were compared against a ‘watch and wait’ approach to women with a foetal breech presentation at 33 weeks gestation. Acupuncture was shown to be more effective and less costly- even when compared with external cephalic version (manual manipulation of the abdomen before labour),  thus reducing the need for caesarean sections.
