The Royal Society of Medicine Library offer a range of free training courses to their corporate members-  including all Camlis members. The following days are coming up soon. Registration is necessary and you will need to give your proof of Camlis membership on attendance.

Introduction to Evidence Based Medicine
A course designed for those with intermediate to advanced search skills which will teach participants about the different levels of evidence, to focus clinical questions and to locate evidence based resources. Prior attendance at the Introduction to Literature Searching course is recommended.

Introduction to Literature searching
A course for beginners and those with intermediate skills, covering basic database searching, accessing online resources including electronic journals, requesting RSM Library services and finding grey literature on the Internet. Internet navigation skills are essential.
Monday 19th April 2010, 9.00am-1.00pm

Introduction to Critical Appraisal
A course covering basic skills in critical appraisal, focusing on a clinical trial and a systematic review. Prior attendance at the Introduction to Evidence Based Medicine course is recommended.
Friday 14th May 2010, 9.00am-1.00pm

Non-members may also attend upon payment of a course fee.
