Welcome to members of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) who have trial access to CAMLIS’ e-resources between Wednesday 9th September and Thursday 17th September 2009.
IMPORTANT – Membership Access Details
Barcode/Userid: Enter your FHT membership number. If your membership number begins with a zero ’0′ please omit it, i.e. enter ’112233′ NOT ’0112233′
PIN: Enter ’1234′
Once logged on click ‘Online Resources’ (under the search box) for a list of our databases and full-text journals. If you know already which journal you want to open, just click on it, and the current issue will open. A list of previous volumes and issues will normally appear on the side. Enjoy browsing!
If you want to research a topic and don’t have a particular journal in mind, start with Medline first and do a search. You might have to run several searches and combine them with ‘and’ afterwards. For example you might want to search for ‘back pain’ first, do a second search on ‘acupuncture’ then, and, finally, select the two by ticking the boxes, and click the ‘AND’ underneath to see the overlap between the two searches. Should your topic not produce results in Medline, click ‘Change database’ and try AMED instead: AMED covers more CAM journals, but be aware, some are lower quality.
Medline and AMED show full-text buttons for all articles published in journals which CAMLIS subscribes to. Just click ‘Full Text’ to be taken right through to the full text of an article you’d like to read!
If you have any problems please get in touch!
You are also cordially invited to visit the reading room and see the book collection – we’ll be open on Saturday as well, from 8.45 am to 5 pm.
