The College of Medicine has launched – a collaboration of doctors, scientists, patients and allied healthcare professions. The membership body hopes to improve patient involvement in care, and to show ways of preventing some of the healthcare scandals which have been a feature of the past twenty years. Full membership is open to clinicians for £200 – complementary therapists can become associates for £35 – or £85 including access to the Camlis library plus extra mainstream medical journals – the ‘Comlis’ service.
The College’s motto is ‘service, science, healing’ – and it promotes projects which demonstrate all three qualities in their innovation network section. Its Faculty for Self Care is led by Professor David Peters and herbalist Simon Mills.
